One of the best books for understanding the single adult has got to be the book Single and Gifted by Dr. Jeffrey Brown and printed by Autumn House. In it he talked about several things:

* How to survive as a single - and turn singleness to your advantage.
* Hope for those desperately seeking someone.
* How to cope with being alone - and with the crisis of marital separation.
* A guide through the minefield of relationships.
* Sex and the single person.
* Surviving as a single parent.
* How to cope with grief over the death of someone special.
* How to tell love from infatuation.

Dr. Brown and his wife Pattiejean, conduct reltationship seminars for singles. He has pastoral and teaching experience (In England, Canada and at Oakwood College). and has taught Family Life courses at undergraduate and graduate levels. He has lectured on the "Single and Gifted' theme in Africa, North America and Britain. His PhD comes from Andrews University. He is an ordained minister and a qualified counsellor.

Dr. Brown spoke at our retreat at Camp Hope and many there said he was the best speaker on Single Adult issues they had heard.

Dr. Brown came back to Camp Hope (BC Conference) to speak at our Fall Retreat in 2008 when the BC Single Adult Ministries celebrated 30 years of ministry. He is certainly a great speaker for single adults!
