Well....the Freedom Singers have confirmed our invitation to present a concert at our 2010 SAGE BC Convention in May. That will be a real treat!.

At the moment the Freedom Singers are looking a little lonely because their base singer, Donovan is not with them. He is here at CaUC taking theology. Here is another link to their website:

The Freedom Singers are going to be doing a concert here in Lacombe on March 13th. I'm not sure if it will be three or four of them. Since Donovan is attending CUC, maybe it will be four. I do plan to go since I like their personal story and their music.

I just returned from the concert and I must say, it was very good. At this concert Simon shared a little more of their story about their escape from Romania. At that time their country required their young men to be a part of the army and they could not worship God the way they wanted. Their escape was very dramatic and tough but, God spared them and brought them in a container on a ship bound for (they didn't know where) Montreal. They just about died. Today they live in Canada and can worship God they way they feel God wants them to.

If you ever get a chance to read their book, do it. You will be very glad you did. Also if you get a chance to go to one of their concerts, do it. You will be very glad you did. Really.

The Freedom Singers were in Red Deer last night at the 1st Christian Reformed Church. I didn't get to go but, Donovan, my cousins son got to sing with them last night. He sings bass with them but right now is attending Canadian University College taking Theology. They hadn't practises but he still was able to do it. Wonderful!

These young men sang at the Southern Gospel Weekend here in Red Deer last weekend. Apparently they were good and the whole weekend is huge.

I didn`t get to go because we were out at the Alberta Camp Meeting....Maybe next year they won`t both be on the same weekend.....

The Freedom Singles had a sad mishap just recently. They were on their way to a concert out on the Prairies when their vehicle caught fire and it took quite a long time for the firetruck to get there. The vehicle was destroyed but they got another and continued on to their concert. Yes, God does protect. They are doing a work for Him and he does provide.
